I really enjoyed the first half of this book. Young established great chemistry, despite the instant attraction, and I applauded each time she managed to write a difficult, damaged heroine without devolving into melodrama. Little did I know, she was just saving the drama for the climax. I didn't enjoy the growing pains of Joss freaking out, to the point where I could have happily stopped reading and just imagined the HEA that would inevitably result, but I powered through.
