I'm a co-blogger at All Things Urban Fantasy, while Read Fragment is where other genres wash ashore.
I wasn't a big Ned fan from the previous book, but when I saw this on Publisher's Weekly top 100 books of the year (alongside "The Forbidden Rose" and "The Iron Duke"), I had to pick it up. My faith in Publishers Weekly was justified, as this book did not disappoint. Ned went through a unique and interesting development arc, and Kate was an admirable heroine. Rarely does the hero have more growing to do than the heroine, and Milan does a wonderful job making their relationship balanced and realistic.
