The World of the Lupi is an aptly named series, as every new book reminds me of how vast, complex, and well drawn this world is. Though Wilks's well paced writing makes it easy to follow the action, MORTAL TIES reminded me of two books I wanted to re-read and at least twice as many plot points that I had forgotten. The refresher was great, I'm glad I reconnected with the Lupi, but MORTAL TIES wasn't memorable enough that it will be a re-read in the future. But this building block sets me up for the next dip into Wilks's world, which I'm eager to enjoy.
