I didn't believe that Chase was actually going to be a future hero, given how complex, convoluted, and legitimately dark his issues were. I'm not sure I buy Faye as a well rounded character (and her geek rants were pretty skippable, despite being about things I love), but I enjoyed this book over all. Malachi completely stole the show (why rename a kid named Jeremiah 'Malachi'? Ok, Julia, this character has already been established as batshit crazy, stop second guessing it).
