The Rock Chick formula works really well in this book. Ava's issues don't get out of hand, and she's a very likable heroine. Her brush with an "alternate hunk" does a good job setting Luke up for the next book, and her conversations with her cat had me cracking up. The obligatory "What should I wear?", "Why does everyone keep calling me?", and "Now I have a crazy Colorado family" moments were pretty forgettable, and with so many past characters it gets crowded trotting everyone out for each sequel. This is pretty noticeable with Vance, who doesn't get much development as the leading man. He has a cabin, he likes to read. That's about the only new stuff we get for Vance. Of course, now I'm off to Luke's HEA...
