Not a huge fan of the world building in this story, but once the heroine and her gryphon find each other, I was on a gravy train with biscuit wheels. The heavy application of Japanese trappings layered on top of a dark, hopeless, nominally steam-punk world wasn't to my taste, but I'll be back for more of these characters!
