The first half of this book was a grueling read, though it was evident that the trials and disappointments Emily faced early on were simply a foundation for her triumphs later. Hobson did a great job bringing everything together, and the second half of the book was definitely worth powering through the first. Just as with Book One, the world building in THE HIDDEN GODDESS is phenomenal. I'm impressed that Hobson was able to bring new depth to an established world, and set up my anticipation for Book Three without any artificial cliff-hangers. A strong second book to the series, and well worth a read.
